The Street-Facing Strip
What You See
Grass looks okay from the road but thin up close. Edges are ragged, and crabgrass creeps in along the sidewalk every July. The curb strip bakes in afternoon sun and never quite matches the rest.
What It Means
The street-facing strip is the most walked-on, most sun-baked, most salt-sprayed part of a Skippack lawn. Compaction from foot traffic plus reflected heat from the pavement means the grass here is under constant stress — so it thins, and weeds fill the gaps.
What We Do
We don't treat the curb strip like the rest of the lawn. We aerate the compaction, time a pre-emergent before the crabgrass germinates, and overseed with Sunny Seed Mix built for the heat and traffic this strip takes. Density is the only thing that holds an edge here.
